Head of Technical Services, Challenger

Andrew and the Challenger Tech Team are responsible for the development and delivery of technical content, tools and advice for advisers.


Andrew’s areas of interest include pre and post retirement planning, superannuation (including SMSFs), life insurance and the regulatory environment for the provision of financial advice.


Andrew has more than 20 years technical experience including technical roles with AMP, ING and ANZ.  He is a member of a number of industry working groups and regularly liaises with Government across his areas of specialisation.


Andrew has qualifications in Commerce, Financial Planning and Law.

Simone Du Chesne

Financial Adviser, EQ Wealth

Simone Du Chesne is the owner of EQWealth a boutique financial advice firm located in Double Bay, Sydney.  Simone is proud to uphold the family tradition of providing sound financial advice for all Australians,  a legacy that she is proud to continue from when her parents started the business over 50 years ago.  A lot has changed in that time and EQWealth has developed into a business that meets the ever changing needs of their clients in these challenging and fast paced economic times.


Simone’s dedication to helping her clients achieve their financial goals was rewarded when she was named the AFA Adviser of the year for 2019.  This honour reflects the professionalism of Simone and her team and is supported by her clients who are clearly raving fans as they rated her with a 95% trust score, as measured by the Beddoes Institute survey.

Chris Carlin

Financial Adviser, Master Your Money Now

Chris Carlin is a financial planner, mortgage broker and founder of Master Your Money Now. He is also the 2019 AFA Rising Star of the Year. Chris is passionate about helping others achieve their financial goals and live out their dream lifestyle.


Chris has been delivering advice for over seven years to Australians seeking to increase their income, understand super, protect their loved ones and plan for retirement. Chris is a regular commentator on blogs, LinkedIn and Instagram on finance-related topics.


Chris is based in Geelong, but regularly speaks to clients Australia wide via Zoom and Facebook. If you speak to your friends and family online, why not your financial planner also?


Chris is a Certified Financial Planner through the Financial Planning Association of Australia. He has also completed a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction from Deakin University, majoring in Finance and Financial Planning. His blog, Master Your Money Now, has been rated within the Top 10 Personal Finance Blogs in Australia.


To this day, Chris still has a greylead pencil stuck to the top of his computer monitor.


Outside of Master Your Money Now, Chris is a passionate soccer fan and supports Western United and Everton. He also follows AFL (Geelong), cricket (Melbourne Renegades) and Formula One (Red Bull). Chris is married to Natalie, a proud New Zealander.

Philip Kewin

AFA Chief Executive Officer

Philip is the CEO of the AFA, Australia’s oldest professional association representing the interests of financial advisers. Founded in 1946, the AFA passionately believes in the value of financial advice and the difference it makes to the lives of everyday Australians.


With extensive experience in financial services, Philip is a former financial adviser having owned his own practice and held a number of senior executive roles across Life Insurance, Superannuation and Investments.


Philip is passionate about the value of advice and the great outcomes achieved as a result of good advice.

Phil Anderson

AFA General Manager Policy & Professionalism

Phil Anderson is the General Manager Policy and Professionalism with the Association of Financial Advisers.  Phil was previously with the AFA between August 2011 and September 2015 and rejoined the AFA in June 2017. 


At the AFA, Phil has responsibility for policy and the implementation of the requirements of the new Professional Standards legislation.  Phil has previously been integrally involved in the FoFA, TASA, Education/Professional Standards and the early stages of the Life Insurance Framework debates including driving the development of submissions to Treasury, ASIC, the Tax Practitioners Board, the PJC and Senate Economics Committee on Legislation, Regulations and Regulatory Guidance. 


Phil is a CPA and has a Bachelor and Masters of Commerce along with the DFP and ADFP.

Olivia Sarah-Le Lacheur

AFA Foundation National Chair

Olivia has over 20 years experience in financial services. Specialising in insurance, Olivia has worked in business development, practice management, adviser recruitment, business protection, technical and national account management.


She is an experienced people leader, managing teams of up to 200 people. Olivia has a strong understanding of product, pricing, marketing, administration, underwriting, claims and technical services and can use this expertise to drive results for both you and your clients.

Olivia has been the AFA Foundation National Chair for over 2 years and has worked with a team of dedicated volunteers across the country to take the AFA Foundation into our second decade, raising over $1.6m since inception, and building a corpus of funds to future proof the Foundation’s commitment to partnering with charity partner across the AFA community.
